closing time - you don't have to go home but you can't stay here
It seems that the grand 'ole UIUC has finally realized that I have graduate and has closed my account. As such, I have lost that email account and any mail that may have been sent to me in the last month or so (as well as all the tidbits I had saved from my four years). bastards here at AU did that to me as well. I never saved anything in that email, I just had it forward to my hotmail. But a lot of poeple only had that email, and I did not think about that untill a few weeks ago, despite the fact that AU closed my account about 5 months ago.

Yea Uof I did that to me too!! No notice and so I lost all my contacts and ppl wonder why I don't return their emails. ~.~ not amused. i had some cool emails saved too! grrrrrrrrr so, sorry they did it to u too.

Yes, I think I got away longer since i worked for the university for a year. I wonder if there is any way to recover my old emails at least. I had some good stuff saved, lots of contacts, and probably an email or two from my aunt that i hadn't answered. =(

Doesn't seem to offer much hope of recovering stuff. :\ I'm surprised they didn't link you to this page at some point. Can't say if they did for me, but I remember looking at it... luckily it didn't matter since I was back as staff before any of the deadlines though. The CS department kept downloadable archives of the contents of your account available for a while... wouldn't hurt to email the CITES folks and see if they can give you a copy of your stuff, if any record of it still exists.
